Ballet I-A FALL 2010 SCHEDULE

Ballet    10-13

 This class is for students of any age with at least 3 years of previous ballet instruction or with the instructor's permission.  The goal of this class is the  introduction of  movement and technique used to execute adagio, turn, jumps and leaps. Students will work at the barre for a portion of the class to do pre-pointe work.

Advanced Ballet I-B SCHEDULE

Ballet    10-13

This class is appropriate for students with at least 4 years of ballet experience or with the permission of the instructor.  This is an intermediate/advanced level of ballet and students must attend ballet classes 2 times per week.  Students will work at the barre and center and do pointe work.

Beginning Ballet 1 (formerly Ballet Basics)

Ballet    10-13

Beginning Ballet 1 (formerly known as Ballet Basics) is a ballet class for students ages 9 through teens who are just beginning ballet or have limited ballet experience and desire to enroll in a ballet class.  Students can progress through Ballet Basics and enter Primary Ballet or Ballet I depending on age and skill level.  Students attend twice a week.

Hip Hop 1 Fall 2010

Hip Hop    10-13

Past hip hop experience is great but even beginners will have fun in this high energy dance class which introduces basic hip hop, the latest trends in break dancing and hip hop moves. Dance conditioning will be introduced to strengthen the body for advanced hip hop training. All movements and music are age appropriate.

Jazz I/II Fall 2010

Jazz    10-13

This class is appropriate for students seeking a solid  foundation in Jazz technique.  The focus will be on developing center control of the body and a vocabulary of Jazz techniques including but not limited to:
Jete', Split Leap, Stag Leap, Jazz runs, Pas de bouree, Pique passe, pirouette, pivot step, Renverse,  Toe Rise and more.  Students will also work on rhythm and choreography. 

Students should have at least one year of Jazz experience for this class.
