Classes for Ages 4-6

This class combines the fundamentals of ballet with classic fairy tales through the use of costumes, props, music and stories*. Children will develop self-esteem, courage, poise, femininity and gracefulness. Stories include Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.
*Note:  Laurel teaches a Pre-Ballet class for 5 & 6 year olds that does not include Fairy Tale stories.  She occasionally does use costumes and props. 

The 4-6 Choir has been replaced with Introduction to Orff.  This class introduces students to Orff tone bar instruments, many types of percussion, musical concepts and vocabulary.  This class will develop a strong foundation for future musical pursuits and is essential before the specific skill of note reading is taught.  There is a strong focus on Singing in this class.

TUMBLING FOR AGES 4 & 5

 This class introduces students to Orff tone bar instruments (metallophones, xylophones, glockenspiels)  many types of percussion instruments, musical concepts and vocabulary.  This class will develop a strong foundation for future musical pursuits and is essential before the specific skill of note reading is taught.  There is a strong focus on Singing in this class.
We will focus on solo singing, pitch matching and building a musical vocabulary.

This beginning Jazz and Tap class will have aspiring dancers (boys and girls) learning the basics of both Jazz and Tap in a fun, energetic setting.  Students will be introduced to basic tap steps and Jazz movement concepts.
