Classes for Ages 6-10Primary Ballet FALL 2009 SCHEDULEBallet 6-10Children are now ready for the discipline and structure of ballet class. They will learn terminology, positions, barre and center work. We use the Vaganova syllabus, the teaching method internationally recognized by classical ballet professionals to be the best.

This class will develop cheerleading skills but will not include throws and stunts. Fun, contemporary and age appropriate movement and music. All music will be free of questionable lyrics. All movement will be non-provocative and age appropriate. All music will be free of questionable lyrics. Primary Classical JazzJazz 6-10This class is designed as an introduction to basic jazz techinque, focusing on basic jazz positions, turns, jumps and leaps. Students will also learn center and locomotor progressions as well as proper stretching techniques to enhance strength and flexibility.

Gymnastics Coach Alicia Laxson will be offering a dynamic and energetic mix of gymnastic skills and acrobatics for students from first grade through high school! Aspire Acrobatics is comprised of gymnastics skills designed to generate speed, power, strength and efficiency in movement. The acrobatic skills will develop balance, concentration, perserverance and a well rounded and self-motivated athlete. Students in the choirs will receive vocal coaching including breathing, phrasing, diction, ennunciation, reading music and singing harmony. They will also receive instruction in stage presence. Costumes will be a part of the performance experience. Entrance into the choir does require an interview with the instructor. Teacher: Gretchen GunterLength: 1 hrAppropriate for: Students Entering Grades 1 and 2Adventures in Music Grades 3-5Music Classes 6-10This class introduces students to Orff tone bar instruments (metalophones, xylophones, glockenspiels) many types of percussion instruments, musical concepts and vocabulary. This class will develop a strong foundation for future musical pursuits and is essential before the specific skill of note reading is taught. There is a strong focus on singing in this class.
